The Renegade (circa 1988)
Betrayed… still unafraid to give
For in giving without expecting
One remains free
Yet betrayed just the same
Betrayed by those I love
By those above I must trust to rule
Only a fool chooses not to see.
For years, far too many!
I have carried this pain
Just a felling without a name
Until now:
Betrayed!
Betrayal… is all I have come to expect
Yet none will ever detect
The stain of this bloodless wound.
Yet nonetheless…
Betrayed!
